Apple is currently hosting its annual developer conference, WWDC 2018, in San Jose, California from 4th June to 8th June 2018. After announcing major updates to its iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS platforms at the inaugural keynote on Monday, it has also revealed the names of the winners of the Apple Design Awards 2018 that include just one developer from the US with the rest coming from other nations.

The awards have been divided into two section, application and games.

Winners of the Application section are

  • Agenda – The developer of this application is Momenta B.V. from Amsterdam, Netherlands. This app helps in taking and making of notes of particular projects. A notes app is not very useful if one can’t share what has been created. With the help of Agenda one can print and share notes, even whole projects, in standard formats like PDF, RTF and Markdown. Users can also use the Agenda archive format to exchange exact duplicates of the notes with other Agenda users. This app is perfect for tracking many projects and ideas at once while keeping them organized and unforgotten. Agenda is integrated with iCloud, so that user can sync their notes across each of their Macs.
  • Bandimal – YATATOY from Helsinki, Finland has developed this music composer app. BANDIMAL is a music composer application for kids that allows them to discover the creative world of making music. Set up a drum loop, swipe through animals to change instruments, compose melodies, change loop speeds and add a quirky effect on top.
  • Calzy – This smart calculator app has been developed by WapleStuff located in Chennai, India. Calzy is a unique and modern calculator for everyday use. One of its best features is “Memory Area” – where users can store multiple numerical values and reuse it across multiple calculating sessions with a simple drag and drop interaction.
  • iTranslate Converse – Real time voice translator app has been developed by iTranslate from Graz, Austria. It’s a revolutionary new speech translation App, as it can translate 38 languages instantly.
  • Triton Sponge – Gauss Surgical, Inc. from Los Altos, USA has created this unique surgical blood loss. It’s the world’s first and only app for real-time estimation of surgical blood loss which will help surgeon in operation room.

Winners of the Games section are

  • Florence – Mountains developers from Melbourne, Australia has created this interactive storybook application. This heart touching love story intertwines a succinct narrative with smart interaction design to create moments of surprising emotional weight.
  • Playdead’s INSIDE – This 2D adventurous game has been developed by the Playdead from Copenhagen, Denmark. This app is a challenging puzzle, which allows the users to fall in the game.
  • Alto’s Odyssey – Snowman from Toronto, Canada has developed this unique and passionate gameplay.
  • Frost – kunabi brother GmbH from Vienna, Austria has developed this puzzle. There are 50 levels in this puzzle gameplay. These puzzles are challenging to play.
  • Oddmar – The action and adventurous gameplay has been developed by Mobge Ltd from Eskişehir, Turkey. It has an appealing platform with stunning visuals. The controls are absolutely perfect and the story is compelling and fun.
